Yesterday had to be the longest day yet… we were on the road at 0615, leaving the Air Force Lodge in Watson Lake, YT. Early in the day, we saw bears and a fox, accentuating the wilderness. The roads were rough but until 3 pm, nothing special. As we got closer to Dawson City, aContinue reading “The longest day”

Day 5 (6/19/24) Stewart to Watson Lake (Steve)
Here I am again on the phone typing my days thoughts while everyone else has gone to sleep. I do envy the old men for being able to sleep at the drop of a hat. The day started as planned with a Cliff bar breakfast and Coffee and on the road by 8. Harv promisedContinue reading “Day 5 (6/19/24) Stewart to Watson Lake (Steve)”
Stewart, BC to Watson Lake, YT (Dan)
Today’s trip took us from Stewart to Watson Lake, covering about 402 miles. We were on the road by 8AM and reached our lodging just after 5PM. There’s really only one way to get there – head east out of Stewart on highway 37A and take a left at highway 37 and ride all theContinue reading “Stewart, BC to Watson Lake, YT (Dan)”
Stewart to Watson Lake
Another on time departure today… yea for us! The ride was pleasant, albeit a little bumpy on the Cassier Highway. It was lonely out there. We’re thankful for another safe day. The score today… saw a black bear, a wolverine, and one yellow birdie that vaporized on impact. We met a rider named Kodiak fromContinue reading “Stewart to Watson Lake”
Day 4 (6/18/2024) Prince George to Stewart BC/Hyder AK (Steve)
After meeting up with the rest of the PB’s on the trip I joked about the wake up time. One of the PB’s is notorious for being an early riser so we agreed upon a kick stands up time of 8:00. Welcome to Alaska
Really pleasant day of riding. Only a few minutes of rain and plenty of great stories of Alaska’s past from Steve. We dipped into Hyder AK to say we had been there. We briefly doubled the population. Then back to BC Today’s bonuses— 1) getting stuck in a funeral procession for about 30 miles. 2)Continue reading “Welcome to Alaska”

Phone again, So bare with my fat fingers. Today I didn’t plan on getting up early. There was no sense getting to Prince George and then sitting here for a while. Hexnut’s spin
Day one on two wheels is in the books. Arriving in Billings, Montana at 2 AM yesterday got us a solid three hours of sleep before journey to the truck parking spot. After unloading and unpacking and spending way too much time dropping stuff back off in the truck. We got on the road ontoContinue reading “Hexnut’s spin”
