Really pleasant day of riding. Only a few minutes of rain and plenty of great stories of Alaska’s past from Steve. We dipped into Hyder AK to say we had been there. We briefly doubled the population. Then back to BC Today’s bonuses— 1) getting stuck in a funeral procession for about 30 miles. 2)Continue reading “Welcome to Alaska”

Added bonus
Original plans for this trip had us entering Canada near Seattle. The final plans included a route that entered Canada through the Small community of Coutts Alberta just north of Helena, Montana. This necessitated a ride or rather provided a ride through Banff national Park. look like fun so we headed off. The first hourContinue reading “Added bonus”
Hexnut’s spin
Day one on two wheels is in the books. Arriving in Billings, Montana at 2 AM yesterday got us a solid three hours of sleep before journey to the truck parking spot. After unloading and unpacking and spending way too much time dropping stuff back off in the truck. We got on the road ontoContinue reading “Hexnut’s spin”
Murphy doesn’t always rule…

Super Ten
Ready for adventure. Bittersweet, riding without everybody. Maybe in the fall we can find time for another meeting of the minds. Special shout out to TSO for bearing with 3 plus years of planning. Thanks darling! Alaska or bust! On the road with the rising of the sun… Harvey Hexnut

A few last minute items on the way from amazing. Reservations made. Solid route planned. The big push for me is to have all myContinue reading “A week and some change…”

Nearing 50 days until go time and we are all chomping at the bit. A little more preventative maintenance on the truck is in order. The last step on the Super Tenere is fork seals. Look over the maps and packing list another dozen times and then sleep restlessly until June. Reminds me of theContinue reading “Is it soup yet?”
MABDR conclusion
The trip did as intended, validated some gear, voided other gear and ferreted out machine weaknesses. Oh, and served as a reminder that we, the PB, aren’t 10 ft tall and bulletproof. Gonna need a fork seal replacement on the Super Tenere. Also quality tires are a must. Other than gadgets not interfacing well, IContinue reading “MABDR conclusion”
