Up at the crack of perpetual sunshine and out the door at 0600 local. We were 100 miles form the Canadian border and knocked out the first 70 with ease. Then we happened upon a construction site that was just kicking off for the morning. We were polite enough not to go around the guyContinue reading “Alls well that ends well”

On the way…
It’s time for us to head back to the lower 48. We left Talkeetna at a reasonable hour and made our way to Tok to spend one last night in Alaska. We rode in view of the Chugach mountains for most of the day but the rising heat kept us from too many photo stops.Continue reading “On the way…”
Denali!
Back on track today… we left Fairbanks this morning at a reasonable hour, fueling up with gasoline, coffee and bacon on the way out. It was pretty leisurely with only 4.5 hours of riding on tap. Other than me losing the nut on top of the triple clamp momentarily, the bikes ran great. We checkedContinue reading “Denali!”

At some point we decided to plan to cook tonight so weContinue reading “A series of unfortunate events”

The longest day
Yesterday had to be the longest day yet… we were on the road at 0615, leaving the Air Force Lodge in Watson Lake, YT. Early in the day, we saw bears and a fox, accentuating the wilderness. The roads were rough but until 3 pm, nothing special. As we got closer to Dawson City, aContinue reading “The longest day”
Stewart to Watson Lake
Another on time departure today… yea for us! The ride was pleasant, albeit a little bumpy on the Cassier Highway. It was lonely out there. We’re thankful for another safe day. The score today… saw a black bear, a wolverine, and one yellow birdie that vaporized on impact. We met a rider named Kodiak fromContinue reading “Stewart to Watson Lake”
