We started the day by dodging a few raindrops and picking up US Route 66 for an hour or so. Underwhelming but we did get pix. The rest of the day was due west across Kansas’ thriving farming and ranching communities. It was quite pleasant and temps were moderate. We rolled into Dodge City withoutContinue reading “Getting my kix”

Over the water and under the water
Leg 2 is done, finding us in Springfield Mo. today we crossed the Ohio and Mississippi rivers at fort Defiance and stopped for a photo op. Weather and traffic cooperated and we knocked out 550 miles in 12 hours. We closed the day at the American Legion post where the sail from my first submarineContinue reading “Over the water and under the water”
Living with danger
Danger Dan, that is. Connected with Danger Dan in Albany, KY at the end of day 1. 600 miles for this guy, with about 15 miles of freeway total. The upgraded Super Tenere is running great. The roads and weather cooperated and zero imperial entanglements ensued. It was a grand day, despite a bit ofContinue reading “Living with danger”
It’s on the way…
Harvey Hexnut and the usual suspects are on the move again. I’ll be heading west from the Tidewater area of Va directly, pretty much beelining west to the Rockies. No trailering for me this go around so I’m planning the road less traveled between here and Colorado. Keep the rubber side down! Harvey Hexnut
End of the 2024 Alaska Chapter
Back from Alaska… 7,000 miles on the Super Tenere and 5,000 miles on the F350 to get us to Three Forks, MT and back. Now time to clean up my gear and recharge with the holiday.
Flat Pope
I took flat Pope along with me then he stayed in the truck in MT. I’m trying to catch up pix…
Did you see that?
In the heartland, still a solid 12 hours from old Virginia, I thought I’d poll the group and try to document the wildlife we encountered during our trip. We saw about a dozen brown or black bears. One we had to dodge as it was running across the road to its sibling. Another sighting wasContinue reading “Did you see that?”
Back in USA!
600 miles and riding with a couple of short fuel stops and buffalo burger outside of glacier national Park. I forget the bikes load on the trailer. We drove 150 miles east and stopped for the night so we can get a fresh start tomorrow. I might have more words later, but for now justContinue reading “Back in USA!”
Turn out the lights, the party’s over
One last night in Canada and we are back in the US tomorrow. Little over 600 miles of riding today no issues just a long day and we’re all tired. I’ll try to add some pics, but I need to get some sleep because I’m gonna do the same thing tomorrow and end the dayContinue reading “Turn out the lights, the party’s over”
Making like Hank Snow..,
Bit of a long day but beautiful scenery as we skirted the northern Rockies and made our way toward the US. It was a pleasant 600+ miles in just about 11 hours. Shorter day tomorrow, I do believe. Ready for dinner and sleep. Edit- tonight might just be the first night in 2 weeks thatContinue reading “Making like Hank Snow..,”
