Day 10 (6/24/24) Fairbanks ( Steve)

The hotel I was in was nice. They are a full blown tourist destination with tons of kitschy things, like a theater about the Aurora, an Aroma Sauna ..etc.

They also have a restaurant next door, and an ice cream bar. I partook in all of it.

I made the right decision on coming back south which was corroborated at lunch time.

First, my foot got much worse to the point I could barely walk. Second, I slept for 7 hours last night. My foot continued to feel worse today. So that helped.

What does a person that foot hurts do all day. Well they wait until the very last minute to check out. Then they ride to the North Pole to get some pictures for the kids Then they eat lunch.

I looked at my ABS sensor and it was still plugged in so its done.

Lunch was interesting. There used to be a Cafe up the Dalton called the Hot Spot. I ate there last trip, but it has been closed since covid. However, the owner has a location in Fairbanks now. So I went. In talking with the owner she asked about my foot and told me I would have been stupid going north. She didn’t hold back and that was just the way I remembered her.

Then I had nothing to do and it was hot. I contemplated going back to the hotel for a few hours but wound up at Walmart. I sat inside on some out door furniture for a bit and played with my phone.

After that, I went back to the Carwash and went at the bike again. It still will need love when I get home.
