Here I am again on the phone typing my days thoughts while everyone else has gone to sleep. I do envy the old men for being able to sleep at the drop of a hat.
The day started as planned with a Cliff bar breakfast and Coffee and on the road by 8. Harv promised this would give us a 5 pm arrival. Which it did.
As we were leaving Stewart I was having tech issues with my CarPlay because I have shut wifi off by accident. knowing there were be photo stops and the road only goes one way I told them to go ahead and I pulled over to fix it. It took me a minute to figure out my self imposed problem but I did figure it out.
I started rolling and was about to get in catch up mode when a fury creature crossed the road in front of me. It took a second to realize it was a Wolverine. After taking a breath due to almost hitting it. I realized what utter was and that got some cool points similar to almost hitting a grey wolf on the Translab in 2009. I didn’t have my gopro on though.
I caught up quickly as grampy was leading the way (they were riding slow waiting for me) 😀 then we got the great pleasure of seeing the mountains and Bear Glacier with the morning fog. So we got the Sunny experience on the way in and the eerie on the way out.
Took some pics with no sun blaring down on us.

We then got to the 37A/37 intersection and headed north. There were some cool mountains that I didn’t see last time due to rain so even though Ive ridden the Cassier before it was a completely different experience. Our first stop was to top up gas and have a snack at Bell 2.
We arrived and I was last to get gas and as it was my turn the worker told me I had to wait because they had to do a power cycle of the generators. I should have giving up as I could make it to Deese Lake.
Eventually I got gas and while I was everyone else was snacking. BUT it turns out when they were swapping generators they fried their network gear and everything was down.
They were frantic, but they made me a latte. Eventually they took cash for our gas and gave me a free latte for my trouble.
I don’t remember if it was before or after Bell 2 that I watched a bird kamikaze its way into Harv. Feathers flew everywhere, but he didn’t even see it. So this was my second time on the Cassier and the second bird. Last time it was a yellow bird lodged on my crash guards
We headed out towards Deese lake and it was then i realized my heated jacket wouldn’t turn on. i decided not to play with it while moving. (More later).
We got to Deese lake after much banter about getting Asian take out from a food stand and we had a bunch of boring conversations about PCI-DSS.
At Deese we ran into to so e guys on Harleys, one was a real expensive CVO, the other a Road Glide that was very similar to my Street glide. Huge props to them, My Street glide would never take this trip. Alf added a sticker and we had chicken fingers for lunch.

Harv found a Big C*** that he took a liking to, but unfortunately he had to leaving his romance behind only to wonder what could have been.

The weather was good, we even got Harv to talk for a bit. Somewhere in here Danger Dan took the lead so we started making good time.
We eventually made it to the Yukon boarder where we had to let the world know we had been there

Not ling after the sign The Cassier intersects with the Alcan. We took a right towards Watson Lake which was a destination for the night. We checked into the The Airforce Lodge, received our orientation from the most caring proprietor of a road side lidge in Martin.
No shoes, curfew is midnight, if you get locked out wake him up. He also gave us a suggestion for dinner. The new Chinese restaurant is now the best in town.
We headed for the sign forest before dinner and left our mark again.

We then headed for dinner which was better than expected, but really slow. I thought there was a steam pipe somewhere , but that was just coming out of Harv’s ears.
There was a crew from Guatemala there with varying bikes. Including one that really needed a tire.

We then headed back to the Lodge and decided we would shoot for a 6:30 departure. Which meant cold. So I had to trouble shoot my heat controller. Which I was utilizing port on the an EZCaN.

Well, it looks like one of the ports died. I could lose my front lights and hope something else doesn’t go bad or I could break out the back up. So a bit of thinking about bushfix mounting and I now have an onboard heat troller.

Thats the day. Its 11:30 and still light out. We won’t see darkness for a while. I am taking bets on if I make the kickstand up time.
