Phone again, So bare with my fat fingers.
Today I didn’t plan on getting up early. There was no sense getting to Prince George and then sitting here for a while. However, the brain said wake up at 5:30 am.
I farted around the room packing and trying to dry the clothes I washed in the sink that didn’t dry over night. I then went and got breakfast which was a bit disappointing. I plotted my route for the day. I decided not to add the Lake Louise side trip as another 6 hours didn’t feel like a smart thing. I also needed some Canadian funny money so I headed off towards Kamloops to a bank.
I arrived at the bank and met some interesting locals. One was very surprised BMW made motorcycles. As she pointed to here X3 proudly. Then another drove up and smiled with the teeth she had left and said “That’s the biggest bike I’ve ever seen”. It was so difficult to not Michael Scott scream. She then said i was very strong. I smiled and headed out.
Headed up Rt5 to 16, there wasn’t much to talk about other than vastly fluctuating temps and rain. other than rounding a corner to staring face to face with a Doe. We had a moment looking at each other in the eyes and luckily she stayed put.
At the end of rt5 in Valemount I stopped for gas, bio and an A&W burger. It was then I realized I might have a chance to intercept the others. They were 20k away according to Harv’s SPOT so I went for it.
Well, apparently I missed them by a few minutes. So I was still solo. The slog to Prince George was straight and varied temps and rain.
When I arrived at the Hotel, I ran into the boys outside unloading. I was only behind them by a few minutes. One if them was grumpy. You have to guess which one 😀. He perked up after dinner for 5 minutes and then went to sleep.
I still haven’t edited any videos yet. So those will have to wait. I also didn’t take any pictures today. So I stole one of theirs.🤣 Hopefully they write up a story of their day, it sounded interesting.
Tomorrow we head to Hyder Alaska.
