Two weeks to go and I’ve acquired 99.9% of everything I think I’ll need. A pair of Continental TKC70 tires were spooned on this week and I picked up a set of tubes just in case. Tools are packed and I’ve figured out the rest of the contents for the top case and I’m test-packing the rest this weekend. I’ve been saying this for a few weeks now, but this is the weekend to do it.
The plan is for Dan and I to meet Harvey in Knoxville and load the bikes on a trailer. We’re heading for Montana and trailering there makes the most sense given the time we have for this trip and a desire to not need another set of tires midway. 30-35 consecutive hours should reveal the strength of our friendship. Harvey thinks he has good taste in music, but… I think my jokes are funny, but…. And Dan? Dan is Dangerous!
In total, I’ll be riding about 6500 miles over a two-week period. Anti-Monkey-Butt Powder will be tested to the limits as will my stamina for riding. One last thing: don’t let me forget my shoes.
